A short primer on complexity-aware decisions
When a spreadsheet stops being the right tool. A non-academic introduction to second-order effects and the kinds of decisions that benefit from simulation.
Complexity science attracts a particular kind of bad writing — abstract, jargon-heavy, full of references to flocks of birds and ant colonies, with very little to say about what to do on Monday morning. This primer is the opposite of that. It’s short, it’s practical, and it’s written for people who have to make a real decision soon.
